1. Send a request
Email privacy@auntynow.com from your account email where possible. Suggested subject: AuntyNow privacy request. Say which right you want to exercise and identify the account or booking concerned. You can also request closure and deletion without signing in.
- Access and a copy of your information.
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete records.
- Account closure, erasure or restriction where applicable.
- Withdrawal of consent, objection or review of relevant automated processing.
- Portability where the applicable legal conditions are met.
You do not need to explain a reason for an ordinary access request. Do not include a password, OTP, full NIN/BVN, payment-card details or unnecessary documents.
2. Identity and authority checks
We may need proportionate checks to avoid giving someone else access to your data. If acting for another person, explain your authority and ask what limited evidence is needed. If you cannot access the account email, say so; do not send identity documents until an appropriate verification route has been agreed.
3. What deletion does—and does not—mean
The current app has no instant self-service account-deletion control. A request requires manual review and execution. Signing out, uninstalling the mobile app, clearing cookies or disabling chat does not delete the account or earlier server records.
Open care, balances, a specific legal duty or a justified legal claim may require retaining limited records. The response should identify what can be deleted, what must remain, why, and its review/expiry criteria. A retention exception is not permission to continue unrelated uses. See the Data Retention Policy.
Do not assume closure is complete until it is confirmed. Ask for confirmation of profile visibility, relevant provider copies and backup treatment as well as the account itself.
4. Timing, decisions and escalation
Requests must be handled under applicable NDPA/NDPC requirements. The response should explain the outcome, necessary clarifications and any lawful limitation or delay; this draft does not promise an unverified operational turnaround. Follow up using the same reference if you have not received a response.
You may complain directly to the NDPC or seek an available court remedy. Our internal process does not remove those rights. Use Complaints & Dispute Resolution for related service concerns.
5. Browser and device choices
For optional website storage and chat, use Cookie settings. For mobile notifications or location permissions, use the device’s settings; those permissions are separate from website cookie consent. Withdrawing permission does not erase earlier lawful records.
